Rode crater lake national park rim , IT WAS EPIC+3970 In elevation. Some good long steep grades that go for a ways but the Dow hills were so bad ass, especially when the lake was right there as you are cruising down in your drops. I love being in those zen like moments.

Anyone got an extra dropper remote laying around I can buy off you? Preferably a nicer one like wild tooth pnw, one etc? Took advantage of that PNW sale as well. Dunno why the longer posts were knocked down so much but I’ll take it!

Looks like some great scenic rides were on the agenda yesterday!

A buddy and I were in the Valles Caldera yesterday, which was created about 12.5 millions years ago from a volcanic eruption that created this circular depression. It’s an amazing place to visit and you can see the depression on google maps. Leaf peepin time was excellent as well!

    Just got back from Moab.
Burro is running all-time. Better then it ever has. Apparently last year it was only open in July (off season). This year just opened last week! It’s so damn good right now.
Unfortunately 1 mile in to the DH my derailleur smashed into my spokes and fucked my entire drivetrain and rear wheel. Got a little riding in after that but mostly walked. It was fucking brutal. 31 miles. Rode maybe 10 :turtleride:.
I’m in so much pain right now
If you can get down there, do it. It was seriously marvelous.

    Yeah.
Had that same thing happen a few years ago. Luckily we were on the last day and ride of a multi-day trip. Heavy rain hit us and we were then in sticky mud. My drivetrain got mucked up and eventually pulled in a stick, folded the derailleur over into the spokes and broke several. Luckily we were not far from the trailhead.

I remember Burro Pass fondly. Why didn't you convert the bike into a SS. That way, you could've rode 20 instead of 10 :D

Man that happened to a guy when I rode it who only had 5 to go. Couldn’t imagine the pain of huffing that out in any kind of bike shoes.

Put on a solid ride on em today. Love em, the spinning circle is notably smaller but no loss of power or anything. Didn't smack once, didn't adjust anything else.

    not enough.
I can barely handle 5 days without riding. idk how you're handling 10!

dayumn! that really sucks! had a derailleur blow up mys pokes at a race a couple months ago but never on a ride like that. That would majorly suck.

Heading up to Nova Scotia at the end of the week for 8 days - not sure how I am going to manage no bike riding. Planning on at least some physical activity whether its a hike or two, but don't think the wife would be too thrilled with me renting a bike for a day on our anniversary. Not to say I haven't already scouted out a perfect loop on trail forks and found a shop that rents bikes

I feel your pain. The hiking trails here would be perfect for mountain biking! Plus, I have a box of parts at home for the new build!

    Sorry to hear that!

Can confirm that Burro is fantastic right now. Our crew of five had a fantastic TWE with no mechanicals and no biologicals. I even got to ride it with my wife for the first time!
