sub turns off randomly

Glad I didn't buy the 2channel he was trying to force feed me.
I might have found the problem. I think the ground and power connections on the amp are possibly getting too close to eachother or maybe even touching. I didn't notice it before because when the amp is pulled out from under my seat they are fine, but when its under the seat the amp puts a bend in the ground wire in the direction of the power. Will confirm or deny this after work today.

 

Awwwwww shit....I knew it was something with the wiring. Those little fray pieces will get ya. Make sure it's clean.

But, if that's really the case your fuse should have popped....so then again that might not be it. Clean it up anyways.

 

Best way to solve that, is if you did the wiring yourself, the crimp on terminals typically come with a little rubber sleeve that should cover up the area that you crimped. If you have them, put them on. If not, electrical tape will do the trick will.

Do that. Take her for a run, and let us know if the problem persists.

After taping the power/ground terminals and keeping them separated, my sub is hitting like normal. Had it playing pretty loud for a good 5 songs straight until I turned it off. Thanks for all the help guys.

 

No problem. And the good news is, is you don't have to worry about them touching anymore, since electrical tape is non-conductive.
