I’m working on my 2001 base 4X4, and I’ve run into a bit of a roadblock. Can someone assist me in identifying what bolts and nuts I need to install a new front bumper cover, and point me in the direction of a supplier? It looks like there should be 4 M10X 1.25 bolts for the brackets, and 4 M8X1.25 flange nuts to attach the cover to the brackets, but the threads are not easily matched in my locality.

    Thanks!

Not knowing where your locality is, my suggestions are as follows.
    • Ace Hardware - at least on the west coast, Ace generally has a good selection of bolts. Certainly I'd be able to get the relatively standard metric sizes you've noted, there.
    • Fastenal - fewer stores, but better selection than Ace Hardware in my experience.
    • Menards - generally seems to have a good selection for a "big box" store. Better than Lowes Depot, in my experience.
If none of those are workable for you, you can always get what you need online
    • BoltDepot.com - has everything you need.
    • parts.toyota.com, or your local toyota dealer can get you the hardware you need. Will be the most expensive, naturally.
Lastly - don't forget that for the nut, you can always use a nut+washer, if you can't find a flanged nut.

I've bought metric bolts from home depot, lowes, Tractor Supply before.

Appreciate the suggestions, but I’m still unsure what I need; the local Ace and part stores here in the Shenandoah Valley don’t have anything like this, and the Toyota parts desk was closed. To order online I need to know if it’s a JIL size or what.

JIL - by which you mean JIS - only affects the size of the hex head on the bolt/nut. You can get either as it doesn't affect diameter, length, or thread pitch; OEM is JIS. As far as length goes, you'll have to estimate.

Search for "industrial products suppliers" in your area. Then call and ask if they carry the specific bolt you're looking for.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Some areas of the country it is very hard to source Metric Bolts .

I go with either Bell- Metric , Mc Master-Carr or Toyota for JIS hardware.

OP if your really Stuck send me a PM I have what you need But with the speed of the Mail I venture your quicker to source local.

I highly suggest investing in a thread/bolt checker set.

I get hard to find bolts from Mc Master Carr or Grainger.
