    Hi everyone,

I have been reading the forum since I got my truck in November 2020. I just joined recently seeing how nice a group of folks you all are. I am heavy into a reefing forum and did not think I would have time for both with work and family, but here we go.

First a bit about me. Live in NC, wife and daughter. Auto damage adjuster, I-Car and ASE certified for going on 25 years. Just transitioned to working from home due to all this, so gave back a company car. After a few months I decided I needed a second car as a back up in case the wife was driving our other.

So, here goes my build (and why you think I am either crazy or one of the cool ones:))

I was doing some holiday shopping and stopped in a Toyota dealer along way. Saving the boring long story, I signed papers for a lease on a 2021 Tacoma Sr5 v6 with predator pack. It was due to be delivered to the dealer in 3 weeks. Great lease terms, just thought I was getting that 2nd car that was a backup as needed. It took one weekend for me to get addicted to driving it, internet searches on mods to become a taco nut.

The XP has TRD pro with 265/70r16. I started thinking hey 3/2 spacer lift for looks. Not worried about mechanical issues. I drive this thing 100 miles a month. And easy to remove when I turn it in. The stance looked so nice and I started reading more here, I wanted more. So here comes MRBP exhaust. Bolted that on, what a sick sound. Better than my 04 stang Magnaflow, almost as good as my Yosh CBR600rr sound. Rim blades to help the wheels pop

I though that would be enough. Nope. Ordered a killer graphics kit off Etsy and started looking for 33’s to fit. It is at this point I realize I am buying this truck. I have the graphics mostly installed. I just got a Westin bull bar delivered today and a s&b intake coming Monday.

I do have a question if have not lost you yet with my going on and on. Goodyear has tire service that now comes to me. I was going to put on 285/65r16 on the TRD Pro. I want to see what the overall opinion is on if they will fit with minimal to no rub until I get a real lift.

And what LIFT should I get, ICON?

Thanks for hanging in there with me

Bull bar on. Westin bar. Easy install, even for me..

I am starting to run out of bolt on mods I think.

    Wheel on gang.:)

    Hi anyone following,

I need to keep this updated. I am starting to forget what I am waiting for that I have ordered. (Old and forgetful syndrome:p)

So, just ordered 33’s tonight with XD rims from tire rack. I am thinking of selling the TRD pro rim set up. They only have 900 miles. Wheels coming to the house April 29. I am waiting for color coded vent shades to come in about the same time.

After that I am going to start looking for a real lift since I am ending up buying. Then who knows.

Suggestions welcome. Have a great night y’all (if anyone reading.

Wheels are in, stoked. 285/75r16. Waxed and 2 coats ceramic wax.

I am not sure what comes next. Maybe a light bar? Just waiting on vent shades still.

I like the graphics on the body, not sold on the bed portion or the pinstripe. May peel it off

    Latest update.

Pulled the red pinstripe, did not like it. I like the lower cab graphics. The bed is still up for debate.

Tire/wheel combo is great looking, have not had anymore rubbing. Sold the original wheels to another TW member so buying the lease out on the truck for sure now.

AVS colored vent shade came in, color is dead on. Looks good and taped inside the run channel.

Next, I guess a real lift. Would like more than 3 but less than 6. I have not really seen the set up that would work with not a ton of modifications.

    Hey all, happy Friday.

Big things coming. Here’s a teaser pic to my updated build to my truck, which of course is leased.

Funny, I had been thinking of grey with red pinstripes with the red stripe around the rim like your original version. The graphics and that other stuff was too much for my taste. When you peeled off the pinstripes and switched the rims it looks better imo. Graphics AND pinstripes AND the red in the rims was too much, imo. It looks nice now.

Agreed. The red pinstripe definitely did not work for me and I removed that soon after. The red around the OEM black TRD rims were rim savers. They are actually a product designed to save rims from curb rash and come in all colors.

But I am peeling those graphics off soon. Hence the sneak peek at my new grille. Graphics are being removed and redone……

    SPC UCA’s
XD 16x8.5 alloy with neg 16 offset
    285/75r16 Ko’s
    Westin bull bar
Raptor grill with the lamps, custom nameplate, and badge
    MBPR exhaust
    S&B CAI
    Meso lamp filler covers
Kicker speakers in doors and dash

Trying to keep my build updated so I know what the heck I have done to my truck.

I just switched my lease to a retail purchase and will try to pay it off fast. I have kicked up the mods into high gear. This will be the baddest 3500 mile a year, stay clean, new truck smelling, obnoxiously loud truck around Charlotte.

Graphics are redone with a few small ideas left for highlighting the tailgate and hood. Lighting for bars (even though I don’t drive at night :duh:) , bumpers, bed mat, and maybe supercharger. I want 35’s but hesitant on CMC. Almost wanting to see if they would fit without. Plenty of clearance on 33’s with the lift, UCA, Offset and align I have now. Have not rubbed once. (Would be 3rd set of tires in less than 5k miles of I do.0DE7573B-8B9C-4B24-B028-7DC779E9A132.jpg0711D4F6-E7C8-489D-8146-202B4E734DEE.jpg

Got Diode Dynamics sitting on table right now.
