Short of opening the steering wheel buttons and paralleling the switch, I wouldn't try it.

Sorry for tagging you specifically but I’ve seen through other posts you seem to be the all knowing wizard when it comes to electrics!! Thank you for your response.

I’ll take your advice and I definitely will not be opening up the steering wheel :)

Would there not be a way to tap into the Germes Lab wiring? Basically I want to activate the camera from the second switch on the stealth knob?

    Much appreciated.

For that, you'd need to contact Germes Lab. Maybe they have an external button solution.

Actually, being that they want the mode button, it should be fairly easy to accomplish.Screenshot_20221018_223017_Acrobat for Samsung.jpg

    Screenshot_20221018_222915_Acrobat for Samsung.jpg

Adding the switch between pins 22 and 24 will be the same exact circuit as pressing the mode button, since that button is recognized as essentially a short. Would also work for the Seek+. Would require a bit more modification for any other buttons, but I bet what the Op is asking for is fairly easy to accomplish. Unless I'm missing something blatantly obvious? Which could very well be the case. I'm tired and already in bed.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

How would the camera system recognise that it was mode pressed and not the phone activation or voice?

My electrical knowledge is extremely minimal…

I had also asked the same question to Germes Lab (Japan) so will see if I get the same response from them.

It seems to me that within the Germes Lab harness there should be a way to add the switch or piggyback the Mode button input. TBH even if the Mode button was made obsolete I’d be okay with that.

I also accept that electronics is not as simple as I make it out in my head and what I want is likely not possible :)

Based off of what I can tell, each switch/button results in a different voltage drop. The mode button appears to be a dead short when pressed.

@caribe makaira says otherwise and won't spill the beans. :notsure:

I thought long and hard on getting this, but gladly settled on the switch on my dash. This way, my passengers could play with it too...:homer:
