Finally home long enough to work a bit on the truck:

Gotta get some of the rust from trail damage







Decided to touch up the front bumper





And while I had everything out decided to just clean up my sliders a bit







full wire wheel, clean, self etching primer, and then black.

finally going on our honeymoon tomorrow for 7 nights!

 

Also, some BIG news!

I accepted a job offer at a robotics startup near Boston, so we’re officially moving to New England! Looking for houses in southern NH right now, but there’s no hard deadline to move so until the right house pops up I’ll be in PA!

 

Came home from a work trip to see that my front Diff wanted the oil out (leaky axle seal) so with a little trip planned this weekend I had to top her off






Found a chunk of rust from my CMC. Maybe I’ll do the cab mount relocate sooner

hahaha never! I have a lot to do on it, but in New England I’ll have so much to explore!

 

Had a fun short wheeling sesh last Saturday! (I was borderline useless in crocs and a larger than golf ball sized blood blister)

PSA - get the exhaust re route.

I got hung up on it on a little blue trail and that was the start



Couldn’t get it off by stacking rocks so a little tug off should do the trick



unless the pull is to the driver side and the shelf forces the steering to the passenger side. That equals this:



So anyways drove it down to a better ish area



and the gang jumped in right away





Gouged the inner lip of the wheel but it held air long enough to get off the trail.

Swapped to my spare and it’s good as new



Even gave it a bath today



oh, and the wheel damage



Still holding air somehow

 

My local mavis is awesome. Around here a lot of shops won’t touch “used tires” or work on anything as large as a 295/70r17 but they had no problems.
I originally asked them to swap my more used tire to my spare wheel so I could assess the wheel and see if it needed to be repaired or replaced.

they actually took the tire off for me, smoothed out the edges, remounted and sealed with some bead seal and soap and water tested for me. And they only charged me for a flat repair!

Now that the spare is back on I can finally toss on my new blacksmith spare tire bag. All the way from down under. This should hopefully last longer than my annual replacement trasharoo.

hey! So I still love them! They have numerous scratches and are a little beat up from wheeling but they’re holding up great. 10/10 would purchase again

 

Used the rig to tailgate at an eagles game back on 12/4 (eagles titans) and boy the armor was clutch leaving the game with all the crazies and traffic

 

Our Daughter was born early June! so I'm around just much more sporadically!

Well, if all goes to plan the Tacoma might be traded for an 80 series Land Cruiser next week! Let’s call it a more family friendly adventure vehicle.
