Swapping the cluster lens is pretty quick, maybe 15 minutes, but dissecting the 2 gauges, and modifying the lens to accept the gauges, and modifying the gauge wiring to fit the limited space behind each gauge, so the lens would mount over the cluster again; took probably 18-24 hours, as I recall, plus the typical wiring and bung for the gauges to function.

I had purchased a new lens, and modified the new one while I was driving the truck.

Unfortunately another update on this issue.

The warranty pump has stopped working after just 6 weeks....fun.

Sent an email to Magnuson, hopefully they will get me sorted quickly.

Check your pump is actually working every now and again boys and girls.

Maybe one of the Toyota/Denso intercooler or inverter pumps will work? Just need to find one large enough.

OTT is releasing calibration support for the 2016+ 3.5L Magnuson Supercharger kits.

Smooth and predictable output and refined shift scheduling make this a dream to drive and a blast to rip on. Building on our past experience tuning boosted Toyota's we are finally able to offer our work for the 3.5L boosted crowd. Years of development of the 1GR-FE and 3UR-FE/FBE engines have left us hungry to explore the 2GR-FKS potential with forced induction. So hungry we purchased a 2022 Tacoma TRD O/R as a development vehicle with the intention of putting this kit on and developing the standard kit on a 100% stock truck (as we have dyno'd below) to offering additional pulley support and other modifications to improve the breathing ability of this motor. As we develop the platform further you can expect 87mm and 84mm pulley support and fueling solutions to tackle the added fueling demands the additional airflow will require.

For now, we're pleased to present the results of our "stock" supercharged calibration:

Versus the same truck bone stock:

*All runs performed on 91 Octane fuel from a Tier 2 gas station. Truck is 100% stock aside from the Magnuson kit installed as supplied.

Our S/C calibration is $400 for anyone (should be everyone since the kit comes with a VFT Kit) able to load their own flashes. We can, if needed provide remote assistance. Please email info@overlandtailor.com for more information on that service or for general inquiries.

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels

Those numbers are really good, at the risk of sounding like a douchebag...a little too good. Is this truck manual or auto? What gear are the pulls done in? If auto are you using gear lock? Yotawerx makes 55 less HP than your dyno shows, with the same brand dyno and he's just about at the limits of the fueling system, I couldn't imagine another 55hp on the stock fueling system...

For the record, we ended up not being at the limits, we found more fueling available and are using it for the smaller pulleys.

Nice! That's not including aftermarket fuel rails right?

Correct. The rails do have their place though.

Well this is all nice to hear… was a little bummed to hear that fueling was severely limiting the Magnuson potential.

There's also some more tables available now than when Maggy and YotaWerx were doing development, and they're nice to have available.

    I welcome the question(s).

I cannot at all comment on how/why our competitor got the numbers they did. They closely guard their IP just as we do.

I can say this isn't our first rodeo with forced induction on the Toyota platforms, or in general. I've personally been tuning forced induction vehicles since 2000. We're well aware of what it takes to make a GR series motor work under pressure. We've tuned about every combination of forced induction known to man on the 1GR on stock motors to 4.4L stroked and cammed motors with pullies of all sizes. We've tuned Class 7 trucks with custom turbos, Xrunners that push the boundaries of every mechanical limit. We've done 500whp Tundras and more. I feel confident that we have more forced induction Toyota 3rd party tuning experience in the industry than anyone.

Our 2022 truck is an Auto and all pulls (NA and SC) were performed gear locked in 3rd gear. Our runs are SAE corrected per industry standard. Fuel utilized is 91 octane (tier 2) from the Maverick Gas station near the dyno facility.

The OTT 3GT maggie tune is impressive. If anyone is in Florida, I'll gladly let you drive my truck. Great power delivery throughout. Smooth.

I hope you don't take my response the wrong way. I have virtually zero tuning experience, only a slight understanding of all the time and effort put into it. Just wondering what makes your tune stand out from the rest, that's all. Any reason why you used 3rd gear instead of 4th? Just genuinely curious.

All 100% valid and worthwhile questions. No offense taken!

The wheelspeed in 4th would have been FAR EXCESSIVE and dangerous actually. The tires are not rated for that speed. We're talking 150+mph maybe? I'd have to do the math..

That's fair. 4wd tacos don't really need to be doing 150+ anyway. I've been close to that in my slammed turbo 1st gen and its sketchy enough in a truck built for handling. lol

I do most of my driving between idle and 4500 rpm. Big number are just that - but I don't drive or need to drive at 6500 plus to make usable horsepower. Impressive but not what I use my truck for. Nice job though. I will stay the course with @mZiggy and the YotaWerx Stryker Tune. Maybe Magnuson will wake up and figure out they poked the pooch on their Tune - not likely but that is the CARB world we live in.

Yeah, Maggie doesn't care. They got our money with minimal effort on the tune side. That's my thought anyway. Plus now they have a reason to try and deny a warranty claim if they want.
