so i know you guys are gonna think i'm crazy but....
i always had the habit of putting premium/ethanol free in Toy most of the time. gas mileage was a lot better and price difference back then was only 0.15 or 0.20 so it was worth it
mom and dad didnt keep up with that while they had him. as soon as i got him back in 2019 the first thing i did was fill him up with the good go go juice
then i didn't drive him a whole lot once COVID started and then this year with prices sky high i kinda stopped that habit.
noticed he's been running a little rough. idle was weird and he nearly stalled on me a couple times stopped at a light
so now that prices are down a little i figured i'd give him the good stuff again. still expensive but i was just curious
half a tank/220 miles and he running so much better. no more weird boggy idle and he's a little more peppy when accelerating. just went and topped off the tank again and i'm getting 22 mpg vs 19 with 85 ethanol

TLDR...yea, I'm spending 4.80/gal for ehtanol free gas in my pampered ass 23 y/o Toy who sits in a cozy garage while my Chebby sits in the driveway and gets "cheap" 85 ethanol...but then his engine is probably more able to handle it than Toy

Nothing wrong with pampering your favorite Toy. I take good care of my machines, but I take much better care of the 4runner then the Taco.

Did you ever decide on tyres for Chebby?

Good morning. It's 34 degrees, with rain and some sleet and a wicked wind. Feels like winter.
