    So apperently theres some rediscovered apples there. We used to go get some for making apple butter and apple jelly. One in particular i am looking for is a flat looking apple almost like a donut. I think they are calling it an Iowa flat apple.

    Id like to get some seeds from this apple and see if i can grow it. We've moved away from there otherwise I'd go there myself.

    Occasionally, I will eat canned peaches or pears, but that's as far as it goes.

    FYI... Steptoe Butte is Native American land. Harvesting goods from tribal land is illegal, assuming you're not part of that local tribe. Be very cautious of the areas you harvest from.

    IIRC growing apples from seed is really difficult. They cross pollinate and the fruit you get is almost always different from the seed. I think you have to graft on to a tree to get specific fruit.
