I'm considering doing some major customization to my radio area and part of that may be removing the entire hazard/airbag/clock panel. I've searched but I can't find much about others who have done this. Will it cause any problems to remove that entire module?

It seems it's only a) the hazard switch, and b) LED indicators for the airbag and security system so doesn't seem very critical. Just not sure if it feeds info back to the PCM or something that I don't see easily. On the 2.5 gen without the clock it's a huge waste of space in my opinion and I'm trying to make it useful. Thanks!

No you can't remove it, the SRS system monitors the circuits for the indicators. I suppose you could relocate it, as long as you keep the circuits for the SRS indicators intact the system should work normally.

D'oh I was afraid of that, thanks for confirming. I'll have to do some thinking and tinkering. Cheers.

If you do end up getting rid of your hazard switch id be willing to buy it. I’ve been looking for a black one for awhile now. Let me know and good luck with your remodel

I shoved mine behind the dash and filled that area with a pocket and a USB port.

Where did you get the shade bezel? I put an aftermarket touchscreen in and often cannot read it.

@DG92071, how do you turn on your emergency flashers? Did you relocate the switch somewhere?

Disconnect it, drive about and verify if a CEL shows up.

You could assemble a T harness and add a remote on/off switch.

No need for additional relays and whatnots.

I made it out of some scrap 1/8" ABS that I had laying around. I don't know if you noticed but it's made out of 3 pieces and that was done because they were scraps from a previous project.

I desoldered the switch, soldered in wires into the PC board, ran those wires to relays to simulate the switch, and trigger the relays with a toggle switch under the dash.
