    Hello everyone,

Today as I was stepping out of my Taco, a large gust of wind took the door. No visible damage but there is a slight noise just before closing the door completely and the window does not roll down past 2-3 inches

All other windows work fine at the driver side control and at thier respective controls

Any ideas on what I need to look at first to fix this?

    Help is much appreciated!

The door check rod, where it is bolted to the door, may have bent the door, and in turn bent the window track that is bolted to the door. This would explain the noise when closing and the window not going down.

That makes sense. I'll start there and see what I can see. Thanks for the reply

the internals of the door might have bent from the leverage of the door check mechanism

So I got everything apart. Looks like the check rod is just putting pressure on the window track but luckily did not bend it. If I am lucky/correct I should get away with replacing the door check rod.... Although finding one at a reasonable price may prove tricky. Dealer here in Canada wants 210$

Can you bend it? Does it look the same as the passenger rod?

Have you called around a few junk yards, or checked online??

    Good luck!

I may try bending it back this weekend but It l have a feeling a new/used one would be a much easier solution. This weekend hopefully will yield some answers

the oem door checks are like $90 each which is outrageous. you can probably get one for $5 at a Pick-n-Pull
