I had my front brakes replaced at the dealership a few weeks ago and now when I press the brake pedal and my windows are down I hear a click clack kinda sound. Sounds wrong. Any ideas?

On another note I disengaged my 4 high the other day and it sounded awful, like it shifted hard out of 4 high. Should I be concerned??

I was rolling less than 5mph but I've never had it shift that hard out of 4 high. Really? That click clack is normal, I don't remember them doing that before I had them changed?

My 14 started doing it at about 30,000 miles, so I replaced the pads even though the originals had plenty of life left. I also cleaned and lubed everything really well and now at 75,000 miles they are still quiet. You’re hearing the pads slap against the rotor. It’s harmless, but annoying.

Depending on the situation, that can be normal.

This too is normal, I usually stop and then disengage 4WD.

They probably didnt put a second retainer clip.
Sometimes 4 wheel will shift hard i find its better to disengage/ engage when rolling.

I would take it back to the dealer and have them double check the brakes. You’re issue may be different than the common brake slap and you don’t want to mess around when it comes to safely stopping your vehicle.

Yeah, I already made an appointment for next Friday for them to check the brakes and replace my shocks with Bilstein 4600's.

my 4wd shifting works best under 45 mph, switch to neutral, wait for rpm's to drop, then switch. Both in and out. Dont ask me why. i got sick of the clunking and it worked. What you have is normal, but it can be worked around.

My pads did that when the oem pads were old, whenever shifting from forward to reverse. No springs or retainers missing, just worn in. Maybe the new pads have more play, maybe they were ground to fit, maybe some caliper crease can help

clunk outta 4hi was because you had some bind going on due to either turning or another factor, perfectly fine no issues.
