Since last weekend I've logged some decent highway and city miles on the solid motor/trans mounts.

Vibration is a barely noticeable change and as others have said everything just feels firmer, snappier and more solid. The manual trans just shifts better and this upgrade is worth it for that alone.

My truck is loud enough I feel the urge to soundproof the floor to reduce some road noise.

The radar detector has saved me from at least one ticket already and it's awesome knowing if the cops are behind or in front of you. Also, the gps on the detector has shown me that the truck speedo is 10km low meaning I have been excessively speeding for years now Hahaha.

Hypertech ordered to hopefully remedy that issue

Glad you like the mounts, I think they were a good upgrade as well.

Hmm soundproofing might be a good idea - maybe I'll put that on the long-term wants list. Along with that radar detector. Do you find it helps with photo radar as well? I assume it has a log of all the static red light/speed cameras.

Haha I have that problem too, about 10% lower. I have been meaning to get Hypertech.

Installed a Blendmount (radar Detector mount) with a mirror tap kit so the detector powers on with the truck. Kinda pricey for what it is but the mount is well made.
    PXL_20220901_005811812.jpg

The detector does pick up photo radar and traffic lights in the city and it's potentially saved me from at least three different tickets so far. I tell my wife it's paying for itself Hahaha.

Also installed the Hypertech 730117 (2012+ trucks) and only used the tire size setting as some other people have apparently had issues with theirs when using gear ratio settings and such. My speedometer is now slightly lower than it should be so I'll have to hook up the laptop and fine tune it.

Also installed a Canton Accusump, wired using an ignition controlled time delay relay to pre-lube the engine with oil during start up. Did this mainly so I can remote start in the winter and have the pump pre-lube the engine without having to physically be in the truck.

Have a kill switch by the seat/shifter to easily disable it if I'm turning the truck on and off frequently.

Had to drill and tap the Canton oil filter sandwich adaptor 1/8" NPT so I could mount my oil pressure sensor as well since I removed the old adaptor for this one that has a bigger 1/2" NPT tap for the accusump line.

Canton Accusump mounted behind front bumper.

Also, bought this a couple months back on a friend's recommendation, Milwaukee 1/4" extended reach electric ratchet and modified it to be 3/8" instead. It's got a slightly smaller head than the actual 3/8" model (slightly less torque too) and its been a great tool to use. Occasionally hard to fit in places but when it does it makes things so much faster. You tighten/loosen using your hands like a normal ratchet but the spinning nuts off part is so much faster and less tedious. Even the small battery seems to last a decent amount of time.

    My MVP tool

I like this radar detector idea. There's so much photo radar everywhere these days. Kaley bought me new shoes without me knowing haha so maybe I'll plant that other seed for next time...

    Canton install looks clean af.

I love it so far. It's always beeping everywhere I drive though, which could drive a guy nuts. And this detector filters out a ton of false signals too.

It gives a bit of peace of mind when you decide to get playful.

I think I might need to put it on my list, although that might just ENCOURAGE more playfulness....

Do you find it also seems to detect radar systems that are on-board cop vehicles? My old radar detector seemed to detect such systems.

Twice it's saved me from cops that have been driving in the opposite lane and radaring traffic as they roll. It's given me advance notice on two cops sitting by the side of the road/hwy with the radar gun out as well. Gotten those warnings 8-10 km before seeing the cop. Ka band signals are the ones to really pay attention to. Lots of K band out there from other sources but can sometimes be cops.

It detects laser signals too but apparently if you get lasered and detect it you've pretty much got a ticket. There's no advance warning. Don't know how much laser is around but my detector has picked up signals that I don't think were cops. Laser jammers are a thing for $$$.

Nice. Sounds all right and similar to the one I used to have - although I sold it because it wasn't working any more. Wasn't sensitive enough to the latest cop systems I think. Have heard that about laser too.

There's a guy in my car club who bought every single detector/jammer on the market pretty much for his car. He then started a business installing similar stealth systems on other people's cars. Probably to pay for his own.

Finally installed Archive Garage hammer hangers, cross brace and rear bump stops that have been sitting in my garage for two months. Only one drive so far and noticed a difference on the expansion joints of a curved bridge that normally kind of micro kicks the trucks ass end to the side. Things are beefy and nicely built. Removed the now unused spare tire hanger while I was there.

    PXL_20221021_153844396.jpg

Also the spare had some signs of heat damage with the way the dual exhaust was so tight in there so it's better it's gone now.

And booked for a gearing change in about a month!

Nice, I'm not quite ready to get rid of my spare tire, however that hanger upgrade sounds badass. I would also like the Caltracs - although I don't have trouble with wheel hop particularly, my friend says they're boss for planting.

I've had Caltracs on my radar for a year or two now but don't have seem to have wheel hop with my cheap leaf spring clamps. May have to do a good 2wd launch and see how she does.

So far the back end does feel a little more planted and stable and I'll just throw the spare in the box if I go out of town.

Ran a new microphone to replace the stock one as it hasn't been great for calls and as many mods tend to go I decided to do another mod that was in the back of my mind.

Recommended in the Joying head unit thread.
    https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/product/enfig-mic-toy1/

So, while I was in headliner land I did the map lights on with dome lights mod and really like it. A simple mod that turns the map and dome lights on at the same time when you open the doors. It gives better interior lighting when you hop in the truck but not too bright like adding a LED bulb would be.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/map-lights-on-with-dome-light.251261/

Also got the Diode Designs Smart Tap signal light relay to install and very nice looking billet thermostat housing with a high flow 180 deg stat to install.

Got some fancy red HPS radiator hoses, two small pusher efans for the ac condenser/intercooler/radiator, and a new high flow billet thermostat/housing all on standby and a Mishimoto dual row radiator coming for a big cooling upgrade. Going to experiment/figure out how to control one efan with some form of thermostat control and switch control the other one. Or maybe switches for both idk.

Truck is in the shop for regear to 4.56 gears, which may be over geared but I'll see how I like it. Hoping it'll accelerate like a banshee cause I've felt that my truck has been lacking in that regard.

If I need to tone it down I'll probably do a third gen transmission transplant and if I like it as it is I'll keep it as it is. I have a feeling I'll love it as is though.

Going to be next Tues or Wed before I can pick up the truck unfortunately but pretty excited as this will possibly be the largest change the truck has seen in a while.

Good and fun cooling upgrades. You remind me that I have my oil cooler to install still.

Slightly jealous on the regear happening. I don't plan on going as high as 4.56 but I imagine that will feel like you're jumping into hyperspace the first time you punch it.

I have my Torsen sitting on the shelf to install in the front which I will do at the same time as a regear. Maybe I should just make that happen too.

Looking forward to the first impressions youtube video.
