    My way of thinking, always thought an air dam in front of a vehicle. Would cause more drag? But im no expert in air dynamics:plane:

    TBH - no truck I've ever owned came with one. It's all theory for me.

    Lower drag because the air blocked by the dam is pushed off to the sides of the vehicle in lieu of roiling around under the chassis and undercarriage.

    This is my first truck and I didn't like the look so I got underneath and fiddled with the "air dam". While I'm not an engineer, I am a race-car nerd and I can't see how this piece of flimsy plastic is doing value. The bottom of the truck is not flat or sealed so air is going to vortex all over the place regardless. The "air dam" is not strong enough (or low enough) to pressure air under the vehicle. It's not strong enough to protect against obstacles or road debris. The whole thing is just waste.

    I became irrationally angry laying under the truck to figure out why Toyota would spend money on this. It's not free.

    @TexasWhiteIce

    Already took care of that, my friend.

    The day I took that pic was right before I installed the Talon CAT skid.

    Thanks!

    It looks so much better with the Air Dam removed.

    Thanks @TA2016, that isn't the video I was thinking of, but it might could well be the same engineer. Regardless, great video which explains the aerodynamics of the Gen3 Tacoma!
