When I looked up spackle, cause I've used it for repairs, joint compound came up.

Not sure the difference but yeah option 2 sounds way less messy.

Spackle is for small nail holes and whatnot. It does not do well in large areas.

You could sand it flat but it will be more work due to the paint.

You can also skim coat with joint compound and sand the whole wall smooth

I'm lazy so I'd probably do 1/4" drywall over it, then you only have to tape/mud/sand the seams and tie in the edges.

Not sure the net amount of work is easier but it's cleaner and i hate getting dirty lol

The sanding part is the one I want to get away from; I hate the thought of all that dust and stuff but if it'll be a part of the requirement, I'll have to pull everything out the room :bananadead:

How smooth does it have to be? Skim coat might be enough tbh

I second the skim coat. Sanding through the paint will be a pain.

I’d love a 6BT Cummins or a slant six. Fantastic engines!

The auto transmissions are garbage though.

A lot of the frames have been welded and patched back home on the east coast.

I like the 98-00 front end the best. I think they kinda look like a 60 series Land Cruiser.

Hoping the yard has rectangular tubing, otherwise I'll buy more solid steel rod.

Bent this up as practice; buddy had asked some time back if I could make him some wall art of a road bike -

You're not stealing if I'm posting!

I just need to figure an efficient way of bending steel rod around something round.

The wheel I'm using on my stand is too large a diameter, so I'll need to improvise (and probably hammer) to make the bike wheels.

The dies and handle live happily on the stand for easy access -

I wonder if you could get away without a snorkel on that one..

I thought that road was also closed south of the river.

North of the river toward St. Joe the road is closed at Bull Hollow. There is a trail around the Jersey Barrier that blocks the trail. Right now the river is low. I would say over 3' might require a snorkel. It was 3.5" in the video. Also, there are two crossings. We took the deeper side.

Well....40' of 1/4" steel rod for only $10 bucks

No 2" x 3" steel though I would get hooked up at only $86 for a 20' piece; I'm just being frugal at the moment since I have to buy a shit ton of other stuff later
