Like the title says: I am actively looking for a roof rack road shower. I like the aluminum construction of a Yakima 10 gallon road shower. But have been considering making one from PVC to keep costs down. Unless I can find one used or open box.

I built my own out of 4” abs. I was going to go 6” but decided to fit them under my roof rack. So I built two, one for each side. Each unit holds about 4.5 gals. They are held in place with 4 (2front,2back)24” industrial strength zip ties crisscrossed. No rub on cap. Pressurize them with a CAT brand battery pack/jump starter/air station. They work great and built both for a little over $150.E6E16E39-8F2C-4439-9001-6BEEC617942A.jpg

i would also agree that building your own is probably the way to go. more work now but ultimately cheaper and you'll be happier with it in the long run

Thanks. They have worked great. No major issues. I think I might eventually add a schrader valve to the other end of the unit for a couple of reasons. 1. Easier access to my inflator 2. When I’m on an incline I lose a little pressure.

So each tank gives 3-4 showers (1+gallons) each using a limited flow sprayer and the wet down, soap up, and rinse off method. If just me hunting or fishing I tend to use some of the water (1 gallon) to wash down the boat and or boots/waders and clean hands, or fish. Nice thing with these is that I can pull water out of a lake, creek, or river in my collapsible bucket and fill them up quickly while filtering through some filter medium. I carry 16 gallons (4x4gallons) of potable water in addition to the 9 in the pressure tanks. So 25 gallons total, 16 gallons drinkable. Here is a picture of how I carry the other 16. Tanks not pictured because I built them while out on this trip.
