    1999 2door. Plastic handle broke off in my hand while normally opening. Got a cheapy from Amazon. Bent the flat piece that rod is attached to on first try. Got the same replacement from Amazon and the same thing happened. Pulled up on handle and the same thing happened. Now I have the Dorman handle. Am I doing something wrong?

    Bought one from O'Reilly a few weeks ago for my '99. Is working just fine. Cost less than $20.

    Yes, that is exactly where I bought mine after getting pure crap from Amazon. Will be reinstalling tomorrow a/m...for the third time this week

    I don't envy that! Was areal pain in the a#$ to get the locking rod on mine during the install.

    That is a sound thought! OP might want to check for something binding up before the 3rd install!

    Before installing a brand new handle.
    I reinforce the known weak point with JB Weld.
