Valve Cover Gasket Replacement - Question about separating / removing parts ….

    Hello,

    I am planning to replace the valve cover gaskets on my 2001 Tacoma. I have a question about getting something apart.

    I believe what is circled in red on the attached is the idle arm. What I do not see is how to separate that from what is circled in blue. I am sure it is not hard but it is not evident to me how a person ought to do that.

    That's a Cruise Control unit.. It may be aftermarket. It doesn't look like the OEM ones:

    It should detach from the throttle body- look closer there.

    I also highly suggest replacing your vacuum lines. I can see that some of yours are already cracked on the ends.
