So first of all I will come clean, I’m using a Harbor Freight plug in compressor (100psi). Works on with the cigarette lighter as long as it’s running as it’s attached to the tire. Can go from 18 to 34psi on 265/75r16’s in a few mins (per tire). I carry spare fuses for the truck and for the unit itself but I do plan on upgrading one day in the future.
All of that being said, what can you recommend for a 4 tire hose so that I’m not switching 4x after every air down.

@tonered what hose do you use.

BTW, OP, you'll likely burn up that lil pump doing all 4 tires at once.

You’re quite possibly correct but so far the single piston compressor hasn’t gotten too hot even though there is that requisite break from tire to tire and my thought is that it’s the same amount of volume regardless ‍♂️.
I’m not at all the expert and could be completely wrong.

Does the manufacturer offer any info on the pump's duty cycle?

I don’t know. Quick google search didn’t give me anything but I could’ve easily missed it. Its the Pittsburg 100psi compressor. Really bottom of the bucket and I know I need to upgrade but it’s what I’ve got for now.

Yeah, I've aired up a variety of tires including 235/85/16, 255/85/16, and 315/70/17 on 3 different vehicles I've owned.

Temps varied from 40's up to 100 give or take.

I'm normally aired down to 10psi before going back up to 32-36psi (varied between vehicles).

Was hot each and every single time I've used it.

Let me clarify, I’m not saying that it wasn’t quite warm but, and given my minimal amount of knowledge on the topic, it did not seem unreasonably hot. As in it has this cheap little nylon carrying container and of the times I used it I was not concerned about placing it back in the container and underneath the rear seat. It was warm enough that I took caution not to place the electrical cable up against the piston area.

Mine would be hot, even the area surrounding where you connect/disconnect the hose.

There's even a warning on the device stating it'll be hot.

I'll leave it outside a bit before tossing it in my bag and heading out...usually just take that time to bullshit with whoever's in my group and that's enough time for it to cool down.

Can you do it? Sure. Should you? I think a few genuine factors would lean not to. Maybe rethink the inconvenience or get a bigger compressor.

You obviously know better than me . Another difference is that I’ve only done some light wheeling and only dropped to 18psi so there’s another gap I don’t have to fill. I just let a bit out to smooth the ride and hopefully protect against unseen roots or pokie stick ends.
The tracks I’ve been on probably didn’t even need it but I’m new and just feeling my way around all this stuff.

Important details being .25CFM at 100psi, lubricating internals after every 20 uses, replacing o-ring every 500 hours, and the most important (duty cycle) not shown...

Can you elaborate, as I’ve said, I’m new to compressors in my vehicle.
Also my line of thinking was that I would get the four-way hose and then upgrade the compressor later but if I end up becoming armed with more knowledge I may rethink the order of what I get or possibly just get a better compressor and deal with the back-and-forth tire to tire.

I apologize if my posts come off rather...different than intended.

I'm just sharing information that took me awhile to learn as well.

The more you know, the better you are at making an informed decision on what you're trying to accomplish!

But yeah, I'm concerned about the lack of duty cycle.

    The instructions simply state -

"This Inflator will automatically shut off on overload or under excessive heat. Should this occur, turn the Power Switch to its “OFF” position. Wait until the Inflator cools. Then, turn the Switch to its “ON” position to resume work."

Those that own equipment, whether it's a welder, cutter, etc. will tell you how important it is to keep from pushing equipment past their duty cycle.

I know it's only a $40 compressor, just something to know with any and all equipment you want to last and properly maintain.

No your comments come off as informative and are appreciated.

I’ll look into getting a quality compressor next, this one at least got me out and back a few times so it’s not much of a loss (last minute purchase for first wheeling trip).
Plus it could always live in my wife’s Corolla’s roadside bag, even if she would prefer to just wait for me or USAA

A means of airing up (this compressor you own) is better than no compressor at all.
