A new way to clean inside your frame. (i.e the boxed frame section up front & cross members)

The word sewer jetter has been used once from what I can tell on this forum, and it was just a comment that everyone ignored further on down in the thread.

Yet, I've heard of people using lifts to lift the front of the vehicle up and use a garden hose to wash out the frame, air guns, vacuums etc.

this $9 pressure washer sewer jetter attachment. It's easier, and you won't get it any cleaner. Inside of my frame is squeaky clean, even shiny. Gonna be spraying fluid film inside all these places and wanted all the crap out beforehand. It was a lot.

REMOVE FRONT SWAY BAR MOUNTING BOLTS AT FRAME ONE SIDE AT A TIME TO GET ALL THE WAY UP TO THE FRONT OF THE FRAME.***

• 2nd photo is underneath the driver side door, facing towards the front. From here you can reach all the way to the front of the frame.
• 3rd photo is the cross member that's above the rear of the gas tank. Photo is taken facing towards the front of the vehicle.

This seems like it would be even better with a flexible hose.

 

Is the spray pattern basically just a laser beam with the sewer jetter? I’ve been using my normal pressure washer fan attachments with mediocre success

 

Yes and no. It has one forward to break the stuff up in front of it, then 6 jets angled backwards to blow all the crap out.

Oh wow, yeah that actually looks marvelous! Good call with locking in the quick release, and also to who ever mentioned getting a flexible hose as well. What PSI is your washer rated too? I have a little guy for washing exterior and small household projects, but might have a tough time tackling a cross member full of dried mud

 

Don’t do this if you have the wax spray inside the boxed frame. Many 2012+ have the moisture absorbing wax inside.

ideally you’d blow out the frame with compressed air so the water doesn’t sit inside .

 

There's wax that absorbs moisture? How can you tell if yours has it? Also, what's the point of trying to keep inside the frame dry if rain gets in there anyways and/or people rinse them out with garden hoses? I checked my frame this morning and the inside is completely dry after sitting over-night w/ the front on jack stands and the rear on the ground. Worst case, you could use compressed air to blow the water out of the frame. Sorry I have so many questions, if this is a serious concern I'll edit the post to forewarn people, but???

 

The recall on some models during 2019-2021 roughly, 2012-2017 models affected. Not all states/provinces got it.

 

Hmmf, I can't find anything on google about it, you got any links to it? It's not the same as the white stuff Toyota put on the frames as part of the CRC treatment is it?
