Favorite Whiskey?

Thoughts? Had this with my dad in law a few months ago and distinctly remember not enjoying it. Which kept me from buying the wheated.

Have you had it before? I've read many reviews and they're all over the board. I'd be curious to hear what you think of it. Intriguing concept.

 

First 2 or 3 pours wasn’t a big fan. Since it’s been open a little while it’s gotten better. Tonight I didn’t like it as much as the last few pours, however sometimes what you had to eat or drink earlier in the day can seemly affect taste. At least this is my experience.

I honestly doubt I will be buying another bottle especially at $100

Had a sample of Sagamore Rye sent over by @Hook78 tonight. Good stuff - fruit + spice, like putting Cholula on a peach slice.

Now having some Master's Keep One from WT. This stuff really is a fantastic expression.

 

I have not, but I will let you know. I have heard good things.

 

Everytime I revisit nikka from the barrel I am pleasantly surprised. The peat is apparent but getting more notes of honey now.

 

Cracked this one tonight, enjoying it. High test at 57.65%, comparable ABV that I have on hand is Noah’s Mill from Willet. I enjoy the Noah’s Mill a bit more, it’s smoother.

It’s strange, the nose is almost non-existent but the palate and finish are very spicy and oaky.

 

Depends how I'm feeling

The Monsho or the Hakushu 12? Yes to either, but way more so for the Hakushu.

 

Favorite whisky is the cheapest one but I'm partial to cold brew Jameson and some sweet cream when I get off night shift
