Was it an OEM unit? Pictures? Glad you were able to successfully complete the install though. Hopefully it was worth the sweat and cusswords, lol.

Always want to look into recovery gear, snatch strap would be a good start. Defiantly make sure you have the capability to change out a tire too. Peters mill and Flagpole are not too challenging.

Agreed with @RedDeadTaco on the snatch strap and be sure to add an air compressor. I've got these and have used them a bunch over the years and they've never let me down.

Amazon.com: ARB ARB710LB 3-1/4" x 30' Recovery Snatch Strap Minimum Breaking Strength 24000 lbs Kinetic Stretch 20% With Reinforced Eyes and Protector Sleeves : Automotive

Amazon.com: VIAIR 88P - 00088 Portable Compressor Kit with Alligator Clamps, Tire Inflator, Tire Air Pump, 12V, 120 PSI, for Up to 33 Inch Tires : Automotive

Flagpole is great especially for a first time trail ride.

Nah, I went with a Curt class III. Was $170 shipped with the wiring. OEM hitches were like $350+ alone. The transmission cooler is gonna be installed Wednesday along with my 3rd Gen TRD shocks to upgrade my crummy stock base shocks. I opted for the mechanic to do those. I'm now wondering if an oil cooler is ever going to be needed and if those are easy enough like the trans cooler. I have a feeling not.

Here are a few photos. Was gonna wire it up today but it's already starting to drizzle here.

Oh I absolutely love what I do. Very proud of what I do. It's been a long work weekend, I should say, lol.
But agreed on the third day. That would be great.

Gotcha. As long as it works properly then that's all that matters. Definitely a better price than OEM. What trans cooler did you opt for?
My rig came with an oil cooler from the factory. I didn't know your truck's engine did not.

It's a TruCool. There's a pretty lengthy thread on it here and the guy on there is a transmission mechanic and recommends the brand so I went with that.

Normally, with a tow package, the truck would come with all that stuff. Engine oil and trans cooler along with a brake actuator for the trailer already built in. Since my truck was basic b!tch, if I want those things, I gotta put them in myself. That I didn't know when shopping around for the truck. Even TRD trucks don't come standard with a tow package.

All 1st generation trucks didn't come with all that stuff either so I guess it's not a huge deal. I'm not planning on pulling a house or anything.

Rifle doe season is this weekend here in WV so no trail riding for me. I plan to take my time and clean the inside of the camper today. It's amazing how dirty it gets when no one uses it.

I should be renting out the camper and my 2nd cabin that's down the road for hunting seasons and to atv'ers. Make some money instead of them just sitting empty.

Thanks! Bought a recovery snatch trap from All Top because it came with the hitch/shackle. Ordering a compressor this week and going to plan a trip up to Flagpole (3hrs away in the next 4-5 weeks).
