P0705

got the p0705 code today. I had this three time when i had a pedal commander and would start the truck and put it into gear and it would put the truck into safe mode. removed the pedal commander about a year ago.

Today i went to home depot and lowes and it was fine then my buddy when to the store and said the CEL came on after he started it, i have seen on here about the LED lights messing with it. which i have.

Front low beam head lights and DRL
Rear turn signal and regular brake lights.
under bed Taillight connected to the flat harness setup


im gonna start by changing all the lights to regular halogen bulbs.
trucks never had any issues mechanically 87k miles
anyone have any suggestions?

 

I think you are on the right track, change all the electrical bits back to stock and see if you still are having problems.

 

Thanks, also this week the passenger DRL light has been wonky. works in DRL doesn't work when the headlights are on and wont work when using turn signal.

 

so today i went and change all the leds and the CEL has not come back on. but now ive discovered a coolant issue. checking around the truck and my coolant was very low. only been 3k miles since oil change and when i check coolant. engine running hotter than normal. i have a scangauge and the temps normally 193 and under. today taking my friend to work it went up to 205. got home saw the coolant was dangerously low. also saw some coolant leakage dry spots on the upper hose. havent got a CEL for this only the P0705. Has not thrown a code since resetting it this morning drove about 35 miles today.

Any ideas where to start with this?

yeah idk it wasnt doing this friday? i dont really see any burned coolant around water pump. only near the cap and the upper hose.

 

I dont see any bubbles in reservoir. upper hose is easy to squeeze. started it and it went back up to 205 at idle. normally 193. dont have enough daylight to be able to see under water pump right now but i dont see any coolant leakage around that area.

 

should i be worried about a headgasket? i havent had any problems at all untill now.
