These fog lights fit both 2.5 Gen and 3rd Gen Tacoma’s only (years 2012 and up). They are IP67 waterproof and have three different lighting modes depending on how you choose to install them. They are wrapped with a protective film that gives the 3,000K yellow color and also is better for night time driving in the rain, fog, and snowy conditions. You can remove the yellow film to reveal the 6,000K bright white color if you like. Plug and play no extra wiring needed for the fog lights. You can wire the DRL lights separately if you choose for three different lighting modes, but hard wiring is not required.

There are two major color temperatures for automotive fog lighting: 3,000K and 6,000K. The 3,000K color is generally regarded as “yellow”, and it is preferred by drivers more likely to drive in the fog, haze or snow. Due to the shorter wavelength (higher light reflection) the 6,000K lights bounce back against the fog, snow or haze that cause glare and make drivers’ eyes tired easier. In contrast, the 3,000K yellow light better breaks through the fog, haze, raindrops and snow in the air. It gives the drivers a clearer sight in these conditions.
