Patiently in neutral, switch to 4hi, slowly and into 2hi back and forth, 5 second intervals.

    Oh look, another mod....
Put it in neutral, while on level ground, then change it from 4Lo to 4Hi, to 2Hi. Wait a few seconds and then put it into drive and drive a few feet. That should kick it out of 4Lo.

Going in and out of 4Lo you should be in neutral. Between 2Hi and 4Hi is drive.

I have tried the neutral switching to 4hi with no results. Driving forward a few feet back a few feet. I can hear stuff moving in actuator while having a friend move switch between 4lo and 4 hi

Was there a recent water crossing involved? Might check the actuator.

you've tried turning the knob right? you have to be in neutral and press the knob down before turning. you might have to roll forward a bit for it to engage. if it is flashing 4lo that means it hasn't engaged 4lo yet.
