I have a 2014 TRD Sport 4x4 with 201k miles. The front coilovers were replaced at 150k so only 51k on them. I've started to notice a little loosey goosey, floatiness in the front end at about 70 mph. Nothing severe that it concerns me but definitely not as tight as it has been.

I jacked it up this weekend and did the old push/pull on the wheels at 12 and 6 and 3 and 9 to no effect. Not a wiggle to be had. However, when pulling on different components I did get some movement here and there.

So, how much movement is too much? Are my tie rod ends shot if I can move them easily by hand?

    Should these links be replaced?

Is this movement where the front axle meets the differential a concern?

That's all I can come up with. Everything else is tight. I checked with wrenches and prybars.

    Your advice is appreciated.

The cv axle is fine, its normal. The tie rod end is okish. It looks like it takes some effort to twist but the clunk at the end isn't ideal. Sway bar link is toast. I would replace the tie rod ends and swaybar links

For the record, the video of the tie rod end is of the driver's side. The passenger side is way easier to move. I can move it with my fingers just like I can the sway bar link.

Then definitely replace them. Its amazing how much that little bit of looseness can translate into the feel of the truck.

    In the 3rd video.
You aren’t worried about in/out movement so much.
You are looking for excessive up/down and side/side play.

    You’ll know when it’s excessive.
On the Tacoma, you’ll get a vibration at about 40mph. And it will go away in 4WD.
