“Dangerous to drive”…344 miles on truck.

I have a 2022 with 788 miles as of yesterday. I saw this message once right around the 300 mile mark, but it went away. I kept driving it, because, warranty.

 

Oh man, I hope nothing serious ever happens to your Taco if this made you panic. Poor guy, you'll have a stroke.

Doesn't anyone read the original post? OP literally said they checked the manual.

I haven't read my manual. Most haven't. The manual is for reference. I don't need to sit and read how to check my tire pressure.

Reading the manual cover to cover isn't the flex some think it is.

 

If you want to really panic take your truck to get tuned and watch your dash while the tune is applied. Every possible warning and error msg you can imagine will flash up on the middle screen. After the flash is done, truck starts right up like nothing happened except your having chest pain.

 

Apparently they do that to put the needle at the top of the dial when on the hwy.

 

Makes sense.

 

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s normal since not all of your electronics are powered either in acc/on mode. I get that error and check brake system errors if i turn ignition to on and leave it there for a little bit.

Luckily I'm in the minority of people on truck forums that actually trust their wife to drive their truck. She just made an honest mistake, didn't want to fuck anything up, and pretty much realized as she made the phone call.

I'll take that any day over the dudes on here that bitch about their wife not being able to do anything and not being able to drive.

 

This is what happened the last time the wife drove behind me... nevermind drove the truck. Truck was fine... van was not.

 

I'm trying to understand why continuing to drive the vehicle with a bad charging system could be "dangerous." Alternator failure means that the battery isn't charging, which means that you might get stuck somewhere unable to start your car. So maybe it's dangerous if you accidentally stopped in a bad part of town, shut off your car, and then were stuck there?

 

It also means that the vehicle may suddenly stall while driving down the road. A sudden loss of engine, power steering and brake boost could definitely cause a bad day.
