i'm needing to replace the tires on my '18 taco TRD off road 4x4. They are the standard size (265 70R16 112T). i'm looking to replace them with the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac - 265/70R16 112S.

The question is going from a speed rating of T to an S really going to make a difference? it's 6mph slower and i'm never going to drive close to the max. Everything i read is don't go down on your speed rating but i'm going one letter down.

any help anyone can give would be great.

Absolutely no problem since a Tacoma is unlikely to achieve either max speed.

I've only paid attention to tire speed ratings when buying tires for muscle cars. Google says the speed limiter on the Tacoma is 113. "S" is rated for 112 whereas "T" is rated 118. My Tacoma rarely reaches 75-80mph.

Some shops won't install them, be forewarned.

Most shops don't know how to read tire sizes so don't worry too much.

    Why standard load Duratracs?
