Use this switch panel mount to add 4 switches to the bed of your Toyota Tacoma. This mount uses the existing access cut out of your truck bed. There are two cut outs (one on each side) so you can install up to 8 switches in your truck bed. I installed these switches in my truck to power the same lights that I could turn on from inside the cab. These mounts create a dust proof and moisture resistant (but not water proof) location for connecting a 4 gang switch (sold separately) made by FXC: Rocker Switch Aluminum Panel 4 Gang Toggle Switches

These mounts to not require drilling because they fit very snug, but I drilled holes anyway because I wanted a "finished look"

I designed these mounts using FreeCAD software and they are printed from PETG plastic using a Prusa MK3S 3D printer.

Here is the finished installation on the driver's side:

The mount uses the existing access cut out in your truck bed:

    After:

There is enough space in the mount for all of the wires so the switches and wires are in a dust proof and water resistant enclosure.

Be awesome to re-locate the bed 400 watt plug switch to this area of the truck. Never liked it being inside cab of the truck

Yeah, I thought about using those cut outs for this purpose. That factory stuff is under powered and not always on.

I have an ARE truck cap with wrap around shelves so I ran 10AWG wire to the bed and put outlets on the shelves

Located the USB and 12V adaptors on shelves in the bed

The switches are not water proof. I have a shell on my bed. So I'm not worried about water on the switches. Where I am worried about water is on the electrical contacts behind the switches. My mount allows the switches to extend into the area between the bed and the body which can be a very wet area. But my mount completely encloses the electrical contacts to the switches & all of the wires exit a small hole at the bottom of the mount with a grommet.

    upload_2022-10-31_14-45-34.jpg

So water is not going to splash onto the switch contacts. I'd basically have to submerge the mount for water to get in there.

So yeah, not water proof. Water resistant.

    [EDIT]
I found this (waterproof) switch block which looks to be the same size as the one I used.
The spade connectors are still exposed so I think it would still make sense to enclose the back side of the switch panel where it would be exposed to the elements between the truck bed and body...

OP, you may wish to put “2020+” in the title since that’s when the bed light cutouts started. One of the things I do wish I had on my truck.

I used up all four switches on both sides of my bed pretty quickly. So I started thinking about adding more switches & also wanted dimmer capabilities. Waterproof switches would be a great too...

So this is what I have in prototype stage using touch sensitive stepping dimmer switches instead of rocker switches.

I should have on Etsy at some point but message me if you are interested. If I can source an LED light that fits the 18mm hole, that could be a nice option when you don't need 8 switches. Let me know what you think..
