Nope, they do not. Where is the nail in the tire.

The Goodyear wranglers have been known to be problematic.

    Oh look, another mod....
    No, they don't.

Do what I did about 6 weeks ago: I took my truck (with my OEM factory tires) up to my local Discount Tire. They pulled the nail and plugged it for free. No shit. Free. When I asked "How much do I owe?" The guy said "It's FREE-Ninety-Nine!"

My nail was in the tread, not the sidewall.

Edit: I even told them "I didn't buy the tires here, but I have nail that's causing a slow leak." They fixed it for free anyways. This is why I always spend my money at that particular store. They're awesome guys and go out of there way to help me.

    1) plug it. Nearly free

    2) if plug doesn't hold take it in for a patch.

Good excuse to upgrade….might as well get lift and wheels while you at it.

Discount Tire is awesome. I've taken quite a few vehicles to them over the years, and their customer service and knowledge has always been top notch. At my local one the employees are all gear heads themselves, so they appreciate and treat your car right.

That being said, I keep a plug kit in my garage and fix tread punctures myself in 15 minutes. Easy, fast, cheap.

Never go to the dealer for tires or tire work.

As others have said, plug it and forget about it.

I have plugs, tools, and an air compressor in all of my vehicles. Most of the time I plug it myself and keep on trucking. It is safer, faster, and a lot easier to do that than put the spare on. There have been times when the repair was temporary, but it got me to a tire store with a lift and the tools to do a better repair or replace the tire. Unless the nail is in the sidewall or near it you shouldn't need a new tire.

In the last 20-30 years I've lost count of how many times I've done this, mostly helping out other stranded drivers. I've only had to resort to putting the spare on one time when the hole was too big to plug

In my experience (worked 3 years at a busy tire store) if it's too close to the sidewall for a plug to work, a patch won't work either. That being said, I plugged the tire on my commuter car "too close" to the sidewall and I got several thousand more miles before it started slowly leaking again. At that point I plugged it again and drove several thousand more miles and now the tire is worn out. Mission accomplished.

Mine is same diameter, but different tire and wheel. So temp use as it should be.

    Too bad cant be plugged.

Honestly, Id go get all new tires and keep the other 3 as spares.

Dealer is not a good place to go for tire work.

Around here (north east), tire shops won't plug a tire anymore. They claim because of liability. Have to remove the tire from wheel and patch from the inside. Then remount and balance. Costs way more and takes a lot more time. Ask me how I know. Flat tire at close of business hours and couldn't get me scheduled for a couple days. That's when I bought my first tire plugging kit and learned to do it myself. Have plugged several since then and never had an issue. Very easy to do and can be done with tire/wheel still on the vehicle without even jacking it up. Just need a compressor to air back up and you're on your way.

Yep- another vote for plugging the tire (if possible), and for keeping a plug kit in your truck. Process takes minutes, sometimes less, and I have yet to have a plug to fail. If it's a simple nail in the tread, chances are you can plug it and forget it.

If it's a TRD Offroad I can confirm it will be the same tire. Probably the same for the Sport. You could get that tire mounted on your regular wheel and get a super cheap Chinese tire for the spare.

Twice now I've picked up a nail in the shoulder of a tire and I asked the tire shop to patch it so I could use it as a spare; both times they agreed.
