I was getting around 20/21 mpg in the warmer months and am now @ 18/19 mpg in the cold. I have some 265/70/16 ATs and am pretty easy on the skinny pedal. Probably going to make the jump to some 265/75 MT/Rs once I am buying mt bike gear for this season.

So thats how they get ya.....They put smaller tires on than the odometer is calibrated for, so that they make you feel like your getting more miles to the tank, thus making you feel like you can justify a 6 (or 4) banger. Might as well call 'em a Time-Share salesman.

My taco with 265's (E-Rated) gets 15-18mpg , GPS and tire-size corrected mileage. My 2003 V8 Tundra that was lifted with 285's got 14-20. Figures.

i run 265/75/16 ATs on my 2001 2.7 xtracab prerunner. while driving long interstate distances, i've been able to get up in the high 20s. i have found that the mileage "sweet spot" with my setup is actually driving between 75-80mph for long distances without stopping OR changing speed (sadly, i don't have cruise control)

Just switched from the factory Rugged Trails to 265/75/16 Duratrac's and on the first tank I got 17.9 so I was pretty pleased. I drive with a light foot however and it might need to get lighter with gas at $3.40/gal :(

You guys all have great and honest answers. Here's mine. Average about 22 mpg, with most consistency. As you know, these trucks are not aerodynamic ballerinas; so high speed driving lowers this number somewhat. Trail driving drops mpg like a rock. Winter fuel mixtures (oxygenated/methanol) also brings mpg down by about .5 mpg for me (Phoenix AZ), as does AC (1 mpg). My best fuel economy occurs after the first tankful after an oil change. My numbers are higher than most...driving style. EZ on the skinny pedal. I drive like a grandparent, because I am a grandparent. I got speed out of my system before many of you were born. Synthetic lubricants help; plus oil is changed less often. BTW - when my average mpg drops by about 1 mpg, it's time to change that oil (Mobil1 5w30 at 6,000 miles). The most fuel economic tires I had were the quiet-riding Michelin LTX's. 2000 PreRunner 2.7 lt 3rz header AEM CAI Magnaflow 2.5" exhaust AT x-tra cab 4.88 gears 265/70-17 on 2nd gen aluminum TRD Sports bed cover.
