Retro-1980s-Inspired 3rd Gen Tacoma “Build”

Posted my retro-style wheel/tire combo here a month or so ago and was shocked by the positive response. Finally got the graphics installed, so here they are. New steelie-styled wheels from fifteen52/more aggressive tires, and custom hood/body/tailgate graphics from B.L.Vinyl styled after a mid-80s Toyota Truck (last picture in the album). One day I hope to own one of the 1984s that inspired this build.

Ain't afraid to be different. I like it. reminds me of the new retro looking Bronco. I mean, not that I was looking at broncos or anything.....

 

Thanks guys! Now I need some advice. The “obvious” next step is to get a rollbar/KC light combo. However. Consider this is a double cab. Would one even look okay on a double cab since it would be way back there?

Also, anyone know of a company that makes one that has a more classic look?

Oh and the 'TOYOTA' text across the tailgate. I wish they still came like that instead of 'TACOMA' at the bottom.

 

Those retro broncos are what solidified my decision in the white wheels!

Ah great suggestion! I was looking at those a few months ago and completely forgot.

 

I can almost guarantee you can find a Hi-Lux with a rollbar to help make the decision for you. If not a rollbar, then a .50 cal heavy machine gun. The decision is yours.
