I can’t stand it that so many tools sets (wrenches, sockets, etc…) skip over sizes. I’m the kinda guy that if that set of wrenches leaves out an 11 or 15mm, or whatever, I’m gonna need that size sooner or later, and it’s probably gonna be when the shit hits the fan, and now I’m chewing up the head of a bolt with a damn vice grips. I don’t understand why tool companies do this so much. If they make nuts and bolts in that size, no matter how common some tool company might deem them, your stupid set should come with that size too. Charge a little more if ya have to because seriously, no one would ever choose to have an incomplete set. I won’t buy that shit anymore and haven’t for a long time. Ok rant done.

How you feel about Icon? HF even advertises the stuff as no-skip.

The only thing my Stanley socket set is missing is a deep well 21 mm socket so I can torque the lug nuts on my wife's Corolla. But I can use the shallow 21 mm and just bash my knuckles when I'm putting her summer tires on.

I do like HF for handtools (usually my rule is if has a motor, I don’t get it at HF). I’ll remember Icon next time I’m looking for a set).

I have something similar to this. Love it. Since I got it it’s made all my miscellaneous sockets and ratchets obsolete. Well, some of the old stuff I put in the trucks for emergency tools.

Most metric sets sold in the US skip the equivalent size in SAE.

    5/16=8mm
    7/16=11mm
    13/16=21mm
    15/16=24mm

    9/16 is close to a 14mm
    As is a 1/2 and 13mm

You know when you buy a set there’s going to be sizes you want or need that are not included. So why don’t you just buy a set and then buy individual wrenches or sockets that you want and think you need. Problem solved. Over the years I’ve had to buy numerous different sockets and wrenches while working on projects. Now I can’t imagine me not having the proper wrench/socket. No big deal.

I agree. I’m a buy them as you need them guy myself. Started with a general cookie cutter set, then if I need something else, just get it as needed. Also buying when stores are closing or relocating!

13/16" is close to 21 mm but definitely not the same.

My point wasn’t me trying to find a solution, I only buy complete sets. But when I’m looking for a set of whatever tools, I always sift through a dozen or 2 incomplete sets, counting every size, to finally find the one or 2 complete ones. Complete sets should be the rule, not the exception. This is just a commentary on how lame it is. Sell more tools dumb ass companies, charge a little more and quit leaving random sizes out. Win win.

Close is better than nothing out in the middle of nowhere, but that’s really just a great way to round off nuts and bolts.

I have several of their sets, highly recommend. Except, my 19mm out of that set is missing and I have no clue where it could have gone
