Just as a psa…did my first one since the last one at 3k showed a lot of break in metals. This one happened at 1450…

    1. The trd skid was way over torqued was scared to almost strip the bolts
    2. The 0w20 fill did a perfect spill and splash out of my pan no matter how I positioned it as it’s super light.
    3. The O ring on the drain plug didn’t stick on mine. I know some others complained …
    4. Factory oil filter seems like a flimsy tiny pos

and best one. This is perfectly filled. Still hate this dipstick. (And yes I cleaned the cover out back after)

Lightly sand and then CLEAN the dipstick between the marks, it will be much easier to read for the rest of its life. Happy Friday!!!!!

    Someone south of the border.

however the oil pan filter housing was perfect. My last truck had that over tightened

So - just cuz - you have a factory TRD skid plate. Did an oil change at 3k without removing it and now are removing it for this oil change? Why, no snark - wondering why it wasn't removed for the 3k and is being removed now?

I did an oil change on my 21 at 3k for the break in oil to be dumped. On my 22 I did it earlier at 1.5k, my 22 had the oil filter access bolts over tightened from the factory, 21 didn’t … however my 21 had the oil filter housing over tightened.

Thank you! I can't see the frickin' oil on the dipstick with everything shiny like it is.

Hold the pan near the drain until a quart or two drains out.

I have one of those circular pans that are closed on top other than the center drain hole. Anywhere was just spurting all over

Hopefully you splashed some on the frame, you know, for rust prevention :D

I hear you there and used to have one of those. They made a mess with any kind of oil. Transporting it to get recycled was a pain also.

Since, I went with a cheap, open pan and a 5gal bucket. Both have simplified things for me.
