    Greetings all!

Looking for some advice from driving light experts out there.

I have some KC HiLites driving lights mounted on my bumper and one of them has gone significantly dimmer than the other.

You can see here the one on the passenger side is throwing off more light.

Here are some closeups of the one that is dimmer.

It looks like a ton of moisture has gotten into this light.

Question is, would taking off the front cover and drying out the light help?
What would you all suggest for sealing up the light again.
Has anyone replaced the LED bulbs inside of them? What's involved? Where would I source parts, etc.?

    Thanks in Advance.
    Dave

Drying it out might help, but it's probably not going to fix it completely. The driver circuitry may be damaged by water intrusion. Silicone is not a good idea to reseal it, as RTV offgasses as it cures and will leave a layer of film on the inside of the lens and the reflectors. The reflectors may also be damaged/corroded by the water. Try Gently blowing them off, and you may be able to clean off any visible residue by carefully sloshing the reflector around in a bowl of warm distilled water and simple green. If the driver board is damaged not much you can do unless you're handy at reflow soldering.

Oy..... I'll crack them open today and see what i can do. Both of them have water in them.

Thank you so much for the advice.

Sounds like I might be looking at a set of new ones in the near future....:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I think you're going to find that they're toast and even drying them out and resealing them isn't going to help. If they're out of warranty, you might want to look at the thread below before you decide what to replace them with. Although it mainly deals with fog pattern pods, I think you'll find that the driving beam versions of the same pods end up about them same way. Lots of good choices out there.
