Anyone recognize this part? Friend thinks it dropped off my truck in his driveway. Not sure if it’s actually off my truck at all but I don’t recognize it.
White winged part is a cap that screws off, with an O-ring seal.

Truck’s been doing fine a couple days since. No leaks or issues seen.

Interesting. I’ll check the radiator tonight when I get home.
I’ve driven it a couple days, watching close and temp’s stayed good. Checked coolant too yesterday and so far level hasn’t dropped. Shouldn’t I see a quick coolant leak and overheat with damage like this? (might be a stupid question)

If that broken part was yours you'd know it!

cool. hoping it was just a coincidence and my truck’s intact. Definitely gonna check the radiator tonight and let my friend know in case he’s the unlucky one. Thanks all.

Just check my radiator and I see what I think is the corresponding part, intact.

Is this it? And does this mean I’m probably in the clear?

Friend said there was a head-on collision in front of his house a few weeks ago so thinking the loose part was probably collateral from that, washed down into his driveway.

Probably not yours. My 07 oem petcock is black. It will be on lower driver-side corner, facing the engine.

Edit, after viewing the last pic: your petcock is missing! It should look like the one you found. But how is coolant not draining?! Maybe, it’s just a coincidence and your petcock is only missing the end part. See if the petcock you found fits on your radiator.

    Thanks - will check

So if my petcock is missing, what is this black winged cap?

My bad. Yours is not missing. Either the pic does not show the wings or they are broken. Here is how it should look. Looking at your pic again, the angle is probably hiding the wing portion. Sorry to startle you.

Ok no worries - I don’t know what I’m looking at lol. Yeah the angle shows the wings straight-on so they’re not obvious. Thanks!

I replaced my radiator last month and still have the oem rad. One thing you may experience if you replace your own coolant is in removing the petcock. It should remove by hand but mine was stuck. I had to use pliers to open it and drain the coolant. Be gentle as the petcock and that part of the radiator is plastic.
