Out with the old and in with the new! Went OK, would have been better on a lift for sure. Got out the old one last night then had a family birthday party today for my grandfather's 70th.

New one in before I left. Got home about 6 and just buttoned everything up. Gave up on the intermediate shaft and was able to take it all out together. Angles down there suck.

She drives again, no leaks (I think) and ready to get back to work:mudding:

One or 2 splines off on the steering... I'll pop it apart and try to get it over today after work.... so glad I didn't use loctite!
Tracks straight but the wheel is off to the left. I definitely moved shit around so not a total surprise.

Looking forward to this huge mod day weekend!

If you wheel, it’s necessary. And easy. All it takes is one water crossing higher than your diff to pull water in; because your diff will be warm and water will cool it, if water is above the breather you will suck in water.

I just ordered the 2 breather parts from Toyota and ran some hose up to the bedside cubby, super easy. Also definitely be careful if you drill into that cubby it's basically fiberglass (ask me how I know :anonymous:)

Worth it - and get a kit. The parts from HD are like 1$ cheaper. :notsure:

.... :spy: I need to do this, and the A/C drain too.

Our beds are "sheet molded composite". Drilling through carbon fiber and fiberglass is a pain and truly weakens it. I THINK ours are not actual strands, I remember I looked into it a while back and came up with "it's fine to drill these", but I can't remember why or how anymore...

Yes, Yes, and Yes........even if you don't wheel......it is by far the best mod you can really do for you vehicle especially how cheap it is to do. Water in your diff is no joke.

OK guys, I usually am not this excited over a tool, but I have been looking at this specific 1300 ft lb Ridgid Torque gun for the past year. I have two of the 650ft lb Ridgid ones but I was always jealous of Johns Milwaukee lol. It has never gone on sale and the price has always stayed at $319 just for the tool itself no battery. Now it is on sale at Home Depot during their Black Friday event, for $269.....With 4amp battery and charger, and it also comes with one of 10 different free $149 tools that you can get with it or even possibly another 4Amp battery. This is a fucking killer deal knowing that as long as you register the tool and the battery with Home Depot, both the battery in the tool are guaranteed for life. I am actually headed down to my local Home Depot this afternoon to pick one up.
