Yeah the weight. I didn’t like how the stainless knob was bouncing around, especially off road. I got paranoid about it being rough on the transmission.

The aluminum one I got out of ricks last batch, left unclaimed even, or extra. Polished it with a scrubby because it was too shiny. Stainless I bought used, off Leopard Print, like 2 minutes after the post was made.
Love the aluminum. Would’ve try for a Ti. Sorry I’m just sharing my knob story, not in for another knob, I would have to get another truck for it.

Oh, I appreciate the sharing. I have similar concerns with my SS knob. But I don’t offroad yet. And I like it more than the aluminum one.

I like the heft and how it makes shifting easier. But maybe it is somehow rougher on the transmission in the bumps.

If Rick ever finds his Ti 5 speed knob I will beg him to sell/lease to me. Then maybe move the black one to the 2016 if I want something light.

got a shift pattern stick on thingy for the 5 speed for now.

I was trying to figure out the electrolysis process to make the knob black, or a shade of blue (kinda scary on that one because the results could be iffy) all in all it doesn’t seem that complex but I really don’t want to ruin the knob. Also couldn’t figure out how to pull the delrin piece off, the sets screws seem to be permanent?

Yes, when consulting with Rick on how to polish he confirmed that the delerin collar is not removable and would be destroyed attempting to remove.

Fair enough. A settlement then. First time I’ve ever wanted to handle a dude named Rick’s knob, but hey, we all have our wants and needs.
Seriously though, I wish he was still making them. I pay handsomely for something like it if I could.

Pre Halloween bump. I think maybe the fair call here is to do a lottery between @NomadicCypress and @c_walters unless those two want to discuss and agree on who wants/needs it the most? Unless someone else weighs in on a better plan?

If Mr. Walters really wants it it’s all his, I’ll be patient and wait for another to pop up…hopefully lol Otherwise a lottery is fine with me.

It’s all good, I’ll stay neutral. Off to a good home.
