    Hi there.
New Tacoma owner here in FL.
Have been lurking this forum for months but now that I have a new Tacoma I decided to sign up and participate.

I have a 2022 TRD off road, just lifted it 3" and it has 285/70R16
    It's a dark grey Tacoma.
Looks nice but kind of skinny, so I'm looking at putting R17 tires so that it looks slightly beefier... Thinking of putting new R17 BF Goodrich tires, but they have *white* lettering.
How would it look? Would you advise putting those? (they are slightly cheaper, like $50 less/pt)

Anyone have a dark Tacoma with white lettering on the tires?

TIA - and looking forward to participate more on here.
Will post pics of my Tacoma once I decide to put the new tires.

Welcome aboard. Why not just get them without white letters... "RBL" after the size means Black Raised Letters.... "WRL" means white raised letters. Or you can have the white letter side mounted in instead of out.

I could easily be wrong but most white letter tires I have installed are white on one side and black on the other so you can just flip the tire around for black wall, this of course would not work for directional tires.
Personally I think white wall out looks bad, kind-of like yelling hey look at me and my fancy tires/truck but it is a choice some people like.

Face ' em in. RWL were cool in 1986, but that ship has sailed. That's coming from someone who had them out back in the day on my 89 Toyota pickup and 91 4Runner. Now I can't stand them facing out. It's your truck, though, so do what you want. Hopefully, my opinion means nothing to you.

Thank you so much! That "a picture is worth a thousand words" saying is true.
It looks good...they don't stand out as much as I thought... but your Tacoma is lighter than mine so still not sure.. I'm afraid there'll be a lot of contrast... I kind of have/had the same mindset as @joeyv141 in that the tires might stand out too much. If they do, I'll flip them I guess.

    It does mean something.
I'm a Tacoma n00b so I'm always open to read the opinions of seasoned owners.
Side note, I've always wanted a Tacoma, mainly because I love driving stick shift cars, and this is the only manual pick up truck in North America. My first few cars in the 80s were manual so nostalgia took the better of me and went for a vehicle to reminisce about the good times.
I'm liking it a lot so far - still conflicted about the new tires.
    Thanks for your reply.

Admittedly, I bought the wheels and tires already mounted so they just stayed that way. I don't mind the look but if you have something dark like magnetic grey, you might be right that it may stand out too much.

White lettering out tends to be a southern thing so you should be fine.

    Thanks for the reply.
Turns out the dealer where I'm buying the tires are so cool they will put the tires on and if I don't like the way they look they'll switch them free of charge - doesn't sound like a big deal but I've been lucky enough to have found a dealer with excellent customer service.
