Suffered thru company cars most of my life. Last new car I owned was 1998 4-Runner Limited...still missing it, today. About to start a new job with a monthly car stipend and it didn't take long for me to realize how badly I NEED a Toyota Tacoma! Was going to go used, but used vehicles are so overpriced I decided to jump on 2023 loaded black Off-Road Taco which is schedule to begin building Oct 31st...so I have a bit of a wait. Now I'm diving down the rabbit hole of all the modifications that can be made. Sorry for the long intro. Just excited to become a Tacoma owner and learn more in this forum.

Good news! The rear locker still takes 20-30 seconds to engage, it will remind you of your old 4runner!

Awesome choice. Hope you don't have to wait too long.

Thanks! Can't wait. They think it will be towards end of November. Never thought I would buy a new car at MSRP and feel like a got a reasonable deal.

I'm new here as well. Curious as to how soon after making your deposit you were given the anticipated production date? Exactly one week ago I placed a deposit for a '23 Tacoma SR5 4x4 (double cab/long bed) with the SX package. The salesman I'm working with said they won't have a production date until they receive their allocation (then it's an additional 6-8 weeks before receiving the vehicle), which is understandable. However, I was hoping to get a little more visibility as to when the truck will actually be in production.

On a side note: I was also told by the salesman that there is no planned production (in the near future) of the SR or SR5's without the SX package. I wasn't originally planning on going with the SX package until hearing this.

My salesman had a list of pre-allocated vehicles (including the '23 Tacoma Off-Road I mentioned). He offered an estimated "begin-build" date of Oct. 31 and said it would likely be available by end November if everything went according to plan. I jumped on it because of the scarcity of available vehicles.

    Sorry for the slow response.

I appreciate the feedback! Fingers crossed I don't end up waiting over 6 months... only time will tell. Also hoping I don't regret not upgrading to the sport or off-road for the E locker. Not planning on doing much off-roading, but I can see where it would come in handy during the Wisconsin winters.
