    Hello Everyone,

Would greatly appreciate if someone can help me track down a link to the techstream software that will allow me to program a new key fob and the cable I need to do it. Some of the threads on here link to TS, but the ones I've seen are broken links.

I lost all keys to my vehicle, in process of ordering a replacement cut key w/ fob chip from the dealer for +-$300, but can't get the vehicle to the dealer for them to reprogram it; we live off of the road system in Alaska and bringing the vehicle to the nearest dealer would cost $8,000 plus to ship by barge to and from so hoping to take care of this on my own.

    Thanks

    JMT

Techstream isn't enough, you need dealer access for the key reset.

There may be a local key smith that has access for the key reset software.

Basically, when you ask for all new keys, you ask toyota for an encoded # and they approve it remotely through the software.

You simply can't do this without that access.

I programmed two new keys using Techstream on my 20 year old laptop. All I paid the dealer was $10 to cut them.

I used this cable and the TS software provided by the seller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084H75MZ3 . Getting it setup was a bit of a pain, but it worked.

Are you suggesting it's different if you don't have at least one good key to start with? I don't recall needing my original key to program the new ones.

Correct, you need one master key to program any more keys.

otherwise you could cut a key by vin and simply perform a quick registration and steal any vehicle on the side of the road.

this is a security method to prevent theft, huge headache with remote areas like Alaska.

Thanks for your responses and the link to the cable.

I still would appreciate a link to the software if anyone has it.

YouTube is showing me some people removing the ECM, soldering, and reprogramming it to the mode where the first key you put in becomes the master.

I would just bring this car to the dealer and bite the bullet if there was a road there, fingers crossed someone else might have an alternate solution..
