From my buddy yesterday, common stuff when hunting public land. But I guess that's why it's called public land.

    Screenshot_20221029-161359_Messages.jpg

Luckily there's so much public land within my driving limit that it can usually be avoided somewhat.

    Side note:
I told him not to hunt that area because it gets pounded for a solid month, but what do I know? :)

    Side side note....
About 3 or 4 years ago I got really frustrated, there were people everywhere I went (I'm lucky to be within driving distance of a bunch of different public land spots), so I took 2 afternoons and just drove, checking parking areas. I found several spots that people weren't hunting, so I found spots that I liked in these places. Now when the first of November rolls around and the woods fill up with folks, these areas are where I go. 95% of the time my truck is the only one there. :)

Public land... Starting to remember why I hated it. Saturday afternoon, got into the woods around 2:30pm. Climb up my ladder stand, getting ready to pull my bow up, here comes two doe crashing thru the woods followed by a buck. Thought he was chsing them. Nope. Here comes another doe.... and about 10 seconds after that someone's dog hot on their tail. State park rules are posted and quite clear. ALL pets must be physically restrained. That means leashed and e-collars do NOT meet their definition. People. Suck.

On a brighter note, three more doe came by between 4 & 6pm. Two young ones and a mature doe. One that I believe gave me some issues earlier. Watched her for about 20 minutes as she came in behind, feeding, being super cautious. When she was directly to my left she stopped, head came up, sniffing. My guess is with no breeze my scent was pooling around the base of the tree. Anyhow, she turned took a few quick steps and stopped, quartering at about 15 yards.
