I’ve recently looked at a couple of used Tacomas with about $100K on two used lots. My neighbor is looking. One 2017 and one 2018. Based on the experience with my 2017 with the leak in the timing cover gasket, I crawled underneath with flashlight to look at underneath side of power steering pump area. Both looked suspect as I think I saw oil splatter similar to mine. Suggest that anybody looking gets a mechanic to look it over just to be sure that there are no problems. Sometimes a test drive might not be enough.

This one is a 2.7, they don't have the timing cover issue.

Pretty sure the 4cyl does not have the timing cover issue. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
