    To clarify - That "goofy looking thing" is the ABS brake controller module. It is what pulses the brakes when in an emergency braking situation. There is an actual motor that pumps the brakes for you:

    If you compare both the sport and the OR you will see the OR has all that ABS stuff over on the drivers side instead since it uses a completely different system. I have the OR and used that plate to mount an old compressor I found (Not ARB)
