Nice. So I could use that signal as the "trigger" for my circuit. And if I wanted, I could build a little harness so I didn't have to do any cutting, although, this signal is just where I want it / need it to be.
FWIW, I'm thinking of using one of these to handle rock lights under the truck, or footwell lights (or maybe both). Just have to determine if the speed setting is a maintained setting if the module loses power. (checking on that now).
    https://www.oznium.com/led-controllers/fade-in-fade-out

two or three benefits: cheap implementation, I could have a fade in/out that can be set to any speed, and I wouldn't pull down the BCM/ECU that is responsible for dimming with additional load. this module can fade 2A worth of load.

@Puppypunter uses the Oznium fader and likes it, IIRC. I haven't played with one myself. It does seem nice.

That is correct. Like @daveeasa indicates, it is the Oznium fader that does all the work. I just need a nice clean trigger either positive going, or negative going. That would work for footwells.
Now then for outside courtesy (puddle?) lights, I was thinking these mounted in the areas where one would bolt up a slider, pointed at an angle to illuminate the ground under the doors for entering and exiting the doors (like when there is ice).

Ah, that makes sense, I'm not familiar with the Oznium fader but sounds like a winner.

Ahh, getting up to speed here :) The 2A version does not have adjustable fade timing, just the 8A version. I do like the fact that you aren’t adding load to the existing dome circuit with it, so you can add a lot of lights. My current plan is lights added to my side steps, a light or two in the front, and a couple lights in the back. The puddle lights in the rear are also going to be tied to the bed lights (this is where the positive side PWM comes into play that I described in the PM), so the will come on with both. I figure a little light on the ground when the cargo light is on would be nice. They will be aimed straight down as well if I ever needed to turn them on while driving for some reason.

The 2A version does have adjustable fade in/out speed.

Getting ready to install v2 footwell lights, puddle pods and meso’s v5 turn signals all at once. If anyone did all 3 at once any recommendations on what I should do first or tips in general would be much appreciated.

Wish you luck. Just be patient and take your time. I have all three (V1 footwells) and the puddle switch. They were all installed separately…

I would start with V5, puddle pods then the V2 footwells.
I used a bit of dish soap when fishing the puddle wire harness inside the rubber boot. I’ve read some people depinned their harness…

How about a trigger at the back of the light switch to the left of the steering wheel?

Thanks. I was thinking v5’s first too. My plan is hooking them up to my drl’s so that will be a little more involved. Currently looking for a pnp drl harness that can hook straight into my fbc harness for my led headlights.

Awesome. Thanks for the confirmation. As I look into it, there seems to be a number of other modules out there that will dim LEDs.
I was going to build my own illumination harness, but I didn't know where to source the connectors. But just as well, as I may want to illuminate some custom switches.

@kmorgan3 Kyle. KUDOS. Quality is high. My experience very positive. Would you happen to have a diagram of the pinout numbering for the harness? I both want to use the harness for switch illumination (that's obvious), but I also plan to use the harness to pick up the signal driven low when the cabin light is commanded on. I want to be sure I hook into the proper wire for the latter effort.:taco:

Ya know I used to post diagrams out in the open for people to mod on their own. However, @CaliRaisedLed is currently selling knockoffs of my harnesses with my branding still visible in their listings and kind of ruined it for everyone. So you can thank people like them for killing some of the heart of a community like this that openly shares stuff for the sake of ingenuity . Feel free to shoot me a PM and I can help you mod the harness however you'd like.

How are people mounting the max pods in the rear?

I see people are using the flush mount bracket but wouldn't the rear mount work better? Would love to see an up close pic of what had to drilled/cut to fit!
