Hmm sounds like you don’t have experience getting them to work very well…

If you want to learn about how they do actually work I’d be happy to share. I’m sure people would not be running them in there semi trucks if they were BS.

Does the axys bushing fit the older style arm?

If you want tire to firewall clearance the SPCs are the way to go. They make doing alignments a breeze. There ball joints don't last more than 2 years but thats double what an OEM lbj last on my shitbox.

Having a damn hard time with the two top mounting bolts for the transmission --> engine.

The 1/2" extensions I have aren't cutting it. Taking out the 340E was way easier, not sure why. I need to pick up a couple of locking extensions and a short swivel tomorrow. PITA.

As much as I've enjoyed this project, I'm ready to be done with this. I'm tired.

Thx. Hopefully tomorrow. Tired from being on that cold ass garage floor all afternoon. I'll give the 3/8 extensions a try , have those in locking.

The xaxis bushings are just as shitty as their ball joints.

    Super disappointed in my SPCs.

I was able to get those from the engine bay. Much easier than the ridiculous extension setups.

Sucks about the x-axis. Haven't had any issues with the old style. Ball joints included.

Did you remove anything to free up space? I was looking at it and it just doesn't look like I can get into that area since it's below the exhaust coming off the driver's side right at the back of the bay.

I can see it now... Yelling to wife to call the fire department because dumb ass me has an arm stuck in the engine compartment and laid out across the engine for leverage.

They do fit. Must have access to at least a 10 ton press. Best to stick with the older style from what i hear. These were done for another member on a 2nd gen set.

3/8" locking extensions did it. Was able to snug up the top two and then switched back to 1/2" to torque 3 of the 6. Picking up a swivel tomorrow along with a locking for the 1/2" to torque the last 3 that I could not reach. Thanks for the suggestion

Front driveshafts... I know with the rear driveshaft its important to matchmark the thing but what about the front? Through sleep deprived eyes and brain fog, I started working on replacing the u-joints and didn't mark the flange yokes at all. Is it FUBAR'd? Ultimately if it causes vibration or other wonkiness I can always replace it but figured might as well ask here. Cheers.

This is another task that a 1" body lift helps with.

    Agreed.

Was able to get them both in (3/8 extensions helped to get them started and switched to 1/2" to torque) so good to go. Wrapping up now.
