    Here’s my current situation:
Got a new job that requires about 1 hour of commute time, city and Highway miles. I currently own a 2017 DCSB Sport MT, 3 inch lift and 33’s and would really like to save on gas. I’ve gained interest in the new Hybrid Tundra, not much of a difference in mpg from my current set up but the comfort of having a bigger truck appeals to me. I love my MT and feel like I would get bored of an AT….

I know the 4th gen Tacoma is coming soon, and I would like to think that it will have a MT/hybrid option.

    I need some input!

^Isn't Oahu only about 40 miles from end to end? Just drive the truck as-is lol.

Saving a few bucks on gas would be nice, also there’s the wear and tear on parts for using it as a daily driver. I guess the main question is should I wait for the 4th gen Tacoma to see its options or just pull the trigger on a new Tundra

By something that will put a smile on your face; life is too short. And, you've earned it

If you're concerned about a automatic, I can't see a commuter car doing it for you.

Not sure if there is such a thing as a "hungry" dealer where you live but you can certainly work on that while you are waiting to see what the next gen Tacoma is going to go with. Somehow though, I don't see Toyota shooting themselves in the foot by putting the same drivetrain in a Tacoma that they just developed for the Tundra but who knows.

I like the idea that Toyota is looking at not making wholesale commitments to a fleet of EV's yet! And, there sure is a lot to like about the Tundra...

Take the lift and 33s off and return the Tacoma to stock.

Why not lower your truck and put the stock wheels and tires back on it?

Keep your Tacoma. Buy an older Prius for $6k to use for commuting. Serious.

This is with a 6MT truck with stock wheels and tires driving 65mph mostly freeway and gentle acceleration. Trip A is total miles I drove on the tank.

The OP isn't going to do any better than that with a 3rd Gen Tundra.

I want a new tundra too but I KNOW I’m gonna regret selling my manual Tacoma later down the road.

Keep the truck you have and look for a used Honda or Toyota compact car that gets 40 MPG to commute to work with.

If your 2017 is paid off, keep it and get a cheaper commuter unless you need a truck for everyday commutes.

You're going to be spending a lot of money on a hybrid Tundra right now. Let alone the wait to even get one.

Can't really complain about bad gas mileage when you have a lifted Tacoma on 33's.

No way toyota offers a manual hybrid tacoma. We'll be lucky if the 4th generation gets a manual option at all.
