She had her brain scanned yesterday and that was clear, so good news. Now she starts some kind of infusion treatment on Tuesday. It's been a long time getting to treatment.

 

Fingers crossed...

 

Did not look at the user manual. Saw no adjustment for aligning the blade, so I shimmed it.

My other complaint is that the t-square has a lot of slop. The aftermarket square I had on the previous saw had plastic adjusters to avoid that. I found some tape to fix that on this one. Just have to change the tape when it wears.

 

Afternoon all:
My buddy was sitting with his grandson this morning and first 3, then 1 buck busted him, he saw 4 buck in a short time! We need to put a low tree stand in that area so he can see over the brush and see them coming before they see him, time now to get serious!

What brand bow you shooting Mike, my buddy and his grandson both shoot Center Point, they seem to be pretty good bows for the price, I shoot an Excalibur Matrix 380 and am happy with it.

Positive thoughts also on this end Alan, something got to get us sooner or later, hopefully later----much later!

I use a Wicked Ridge Warrior.
Broadheads are Dead Ringer Mechanical Super Freak Extreme X-Bow. 3” Cut.
However, I may switch to another broadhead. Not sure…

 

WHAT! Thought for sure you were using a $2,000- $4,000 Ravin!!!
From what I have seen and read, there is no reason to need those bows other than to say "looky at what I got's "!
Hope you get a deer Mike, I'm rooting for you, better yet, how about a moose!

 

I didn’t put in for a moosey permit. The logistics are just to great. You need a hunting party
to begin to go after one and transport it.

If a $400 crossbow throws 325fps, and a $4,000 crossbow shoots 350fps, and I have a 30 yard
self restricted distance, I’ll keep the $2,600 in my pocket. Lol

We Didn’t see anything today. No sign. No close shots. So going to try another Area. Real hard walking today. Big vertical hills, 3 creeks, lots of limbs to catch the bow. If I didn’t work out regularly, I could have been hurting a lot more than I was.
So I consider this a gym day lol.

The Center Points that my buddy and his grandson shoot aren't expensive bows at all, his is 370fps and the grandsons is a bit faster, and they are accurate. I have read where guys on the Excalibur forum seem to prefer the bows in the 330-350fps range for up to 40yd shots which most limit themselves to, seems like there is less stress on everything with the lower poundage bows.
I was going to buy the Matrix 405, but after reading the forum decided not to and went with the 380, from what I have seen that's more than enough and I am happy with it. The only minor drawback with the recurve is the width of the limbs which so far hasn't been an issue and I stocked up on a second one even though Excalibur is now producing a Bulldog 440 which I have no interest in whatso ever, and Excalibur is also making the "twin strike" which is like a O/U shotgun and can be loaded with 2 arrows, don't need that either!

I feel the same way about poker. I see other players reading up, discussing, yada, yada... and I routinely go home with their money in my pocket. Sometimes being satisfied with what you have is the best idea.

I meant to answer this the other day when you posted, but I squirreled on something.
My two annual fishing trips, dipnetting Copper River and halibut fishing Whiskey Gulch, were a split:

One of the quickest and best Copper River trips ever, reaching our goal in about 14 hours. We literally left Palmer, fished 14 hours catching 92 fish (84 reds & 8 kings), and were back in Palmer 25 hrs later. Ended up with about 150 lbs of salmon a piece.

Whiskey Gulch trip, the Fickle Witch had a hand in hindering us some; got cut short twice by weather, in three excursions we limited once and fell short twice. We ended up with about 50 lbs of halibut a piece.

Moose evaded us this year. Didn't come across a legal bull, and none of us drew a cow tag. Came close once, thought we were onto a fork, but after close monitoring, realized he had a third small spike making him illegal. Oh well, next years animal is out there growing bigger.

Enjoyed the pictures, the county is gorgeous. What brand and model of vacuum sealer do you use? I am thinking of getting one for my home use. I often buy primal cuts of meat and the vacuum sealer seems to be an option for longer freezer life.

Good morning. We had a windy but beautiful day in the DC area yesterday. Currently 67 degrees at 7am in my backyard. I received an email from the Election Board yesterday at 10am saying the equipment pickup was delayed till today at 1pm. This does not bode well. There is a redskin home game about 1/2 mile away and the traffic will be crazy. Last night was music and dinner at Pirates Cove restaurant in Galesville MD. Salmon with steamed vegetables for me.

I am drying out a pork belly in the refrigerator for smoking tomorrow. I am not very decent with pork belly, so it is an opportunity for me to get better. Everyone have a great day!
