    Hello Tacoma owners,
Well I guess I have found the right place. A little bit about my self I bought a Tacoma about 18 months ago. Went to a dealership was looking at new Tacomas but they didn’t have the one I wanted. So my wife and I went out to the used lot. She said how about that one. It was already lifted and had rock crawler steps.
I was a little skeptical at first. But in the end she won. It had 15000 miles on it. We bought it. Bear with me I’m an old man and have a lot of time on my hands (RETIRED) anyway we drove her home. Well I assumed the dealership checked everything out. Not so. I heard a knocking noise one day driving and crawled underneath. Low and behold I had lost my right side sway bar bracket. Now thinking what did I buy. I was a mechanic back in my younger days and worked on heavy trucks. I was a welder for the last 35 years of my career. Boy howdy I crawled underneath and started checking everything out. Was I surprised. So to make a long story short. If you buy a used vehicle take it to someone you trust to have it checked. I think most of the folks on this post know a thing or two. Me being a retired old guy thinking it should all be good. Thankfully I can still crawl around. I’m still fixing a lot of things that aren’t up to my standards. This is my first post on here. This is my first Tacoma and I love it. Was a big dodge fan in the past. As you get older priority’s change. Just added note here. If you have a lift installed or do it yourself. Please make sure it was done properly and do not cut corners. Thanks for taking the time to read this. All the best!

    Welcome to TW.

I see it says your truck is lifted.
I am going to assume the previous owner lifted it?
And if so, the guys at the dealership probably didn’t recheck someone else’s work.
I’m betting, at best, they followed a basic list of things to inspect, and that’s all they inspected.
