@Wulf I see your in Colorado. What do you think is the hardest trail I could run out there in my truck? It has sliders and a lift but is still open diff for now.

So we've met with a few other potential dog fosters with rescues but we never get to the meet and greet with the doggos phase despite the meetings with the fosters/rescues going well. Wife's been getting really dismayed by it so she straight up asked the last lady we interviewed with why.
Insurance liability since we have a toddler. Most don't want the risk of her getting hurt and the rescue getting sued, unless they are 110% sure the dog is ok with kids.

Sucks but I get it, in this day you can't be too careful and a lawsuit could easily shutter a pet rescue place

What about a shelter? Shelters want their dogs to find homes...

 

Yeah that's the place we went to last week when we met with those dogs in person. They are much less picky than rescue organizations. The only issue there is shelter animals often have very little to no history, which would be ok if it were just me and Rebecca but with Sofia we have to be careful

That husky is actually still there and we're going to set up a second meeting with her, I really liked her

 

Huskies are sweet dogs, but you must have to be careful with one in that California heat

 

I do hope you guys find the right pet for your family, but might I add that a husky is not for the faint of heart.

I trust you guys would be awesome taking the time and dedicating yourselves to learning and training (both yourself and the dog) but they will absolutely test you more than most any other breed.

Ours wouldn't come inside when snow was on the ground

 

Yeah normally we wouldn't consider one but this one is 6 years old and very calm, no barking (big for Sofia, she gets really uncomfortable around loud barking), we definitely wouldn't take on a puppy husky or one that had really high energy.

It's not for sure yet anyhow, we'd do a second meeting and still need to make sure she's ok with kids. She was kind of standoffish with Sofia last time but didn't act scared of her like the lab we met did
